COUNCIL BRIEFS - October 8, 2008

Stewardship awareness continues through October 26. At the end of this period, rather than being asked for "pledges," members of the congregation will be asked to give their best estimate of what they can contribute in the coming year, to help Trinity's budget and project planning.

After the combined service on Sunday, November 2, children, who are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to church that day, will be invited to "Trunk or Treat" in the church parking lot. Cars will be lined up in their parking spaces, with their decorated trunks open and candy for the kids. This allows for a safe, supervised, daytime opportunity for trick-or-treating.

Trinity is hosting the Ecumenical Thanksgiving Eve service, Wednesday, November 26.

The second Friday of each month is movie night, and game night is scheduled for the third Friday.

Attendance for the 115th anniversary celebration is expected to be 165.

THANK YOU'S: To John Nosko and Milan Menich for cleaning the kitchen stove, and to Vera and Milan Menich for defrosting the freezer in the scout room.

TREASURER'S REPORT
For September, Trinity's income was $17,001.35 and expenses were $27,292.90, for a negative balance of $10,291.55. Approximately half of the shortfall can be accounted for by tuckpointing expenses.
