CROP WALK

THANK YOU! Those of us participating in the Chicago area CROP WALK had a beautiful day - - - not too warm; not too cold; and, no rain! Participants walked from the UIC student center on Halsted east to Millennium Park. The walk continued south to Buckingham Fountain, west on Jackson to Clark, south to Roosevelt, west to Halsted and then north back to the student center - - - 10 kilometers or 6.25 miles. Everyone was very tired, to say the least. However, it is a good feeling to know that everyone participating, walkers and sponsors alike, were helping to make a difference in the lives of those who suffer from poverty and hunger. Thanks to the generosity of many members of Trinity, April Swanson and Pastor Joyce were able to contribute $675.00 (total between the two) to the cause.

CROP WALKS MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
Did you know that $4,000,000+ is shared each year with local food banks, pantries, and community gardens by CROP WALKS?
Did you know that approximately 2,000 communities around the country will hold a CROP WALK this year, involving people of all faiths?
Projects funded by CROP WALKS include building kits (wooden beams, window frames, lintels, doors, nails, plastic cement, and other materials) for rebuilding homes for Afghan families in the wake of war (1 kit =$1600.00); field and garden seed for families ($100.00 buys seed for six families); pairs of rabbits that help increase families’ incomes ($30.00 buys three pair)
