Worship

WORSHIP

Worship is the formative activity of the Christian Church. At Trinity we share in the rich tradition of worship passed down through the centuries, centred in Word and Sacrament and informed by reform and renewal movements that strive to keep the church relevant to today. We gather three times on Sunday morning for worship.

Slovak Traditional – 8:00am. This Service draws on the Slovak Lutheran Liturgy brought over by the founding members of Trinity in 1893. The liturgy, readings and hymns are in Slovak, music is led by the organ, and the sermon is given in English. Holy Communion is celebrated on the First Sunday of the month.

English Traditional – 9:30am. This Service draws on the Lutheran Liturgy as outlined in Evangelical Lutheran Worship, the primary worship resource use in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The service is accompanied by organ and piano, and once a month Chorus Zora renders special music appropriate to the day. Holy Communion is celebrated every week at this service.

English Contemporary – 11:30am. This service draws the traditional ordering of the liturgy: gathering, word, meal, sending in a non-formal setting. The music leadership for this service is provided by the Celebrate Praise Band and Celebrate Singers. Holy Communion is celebrated every week at this service.
